Under the Hood Tour & Fluid Basics

Take the mystery out of what’s under your hood. In this hands-on, beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn the key parts of your vehicle, what they do, and how to confidently check and maintain essential fluids. You’ll build practical skills you can use right away—saving time, money, and unnecessary stress.

What You’ll Learn

• Identify the main components under the hood Understand basic automotive terminology
• Check and top off essential fluids (oil, coolant, washer fluid, and more)
• Know which fluids are safe to handle yourself—and which are best left to a professional
• Build confidence navigating your own vehicle

Who: This class is perfect for beginners with little to no experience who want to feel more confident and informed about their car. No prior knowledge needed.

Class Format Hands-on, guided instruction with real vehicles. You’ll have the opportunity to practice skills in a supportive, no-pressure environment.

Instructor This class is taught in partnership with Rowley Wrench, led by Allison Rowley, a Vermont-based mechanic and educator focused on making car care accessible and empowering for all learners.
